Small design in a large Devon country estate
Renowned and reputable Devon landscaping company, MV Gardens, contacted me about a garden that they were completing landscaping works on in North Devon. The client had an area of the garden that was unused and a bit of an untidy mess, which also sat next to an old unused septic tank.
The brief was to come up with a design concept and plans that would transform the area into a little oasis with a slightly contemporary feel. Matt Verney of MV Gardens was keen to include some metalwork and pleached canopy trees and it was from there that the design developed into an enclosed area that included seating, raised timber beds and planting and metal framework, which created the illusion of a piece of modern sculpture in the garden. This turned out to be a great contrast against the rest of the more traditional country garden feel.
